Jun 24, 2020 · Six months ago I swapped to the NBN before I was paying $65 a month for Optus cable and they wanted to charge me $70 for the same speed on NBN. I phoned them up went through to the customer retention team and they said they would give me $5 off for six months to match my old rate. Six months later my bill reverts to $70. My plan is going to finish in a few days and I've been with Optus for 5-6 years. I spend around $80-$100 a month so I thought I might get a good deal again by calling this number. Exactly as above, call the normal number and say you want disconnections, or ask the voice recognition for disconnections. Just talked to Optus Retention dept and they offered me the $95 Unltd plan but they also offered that I could stay on my current 500GB Fusion Plan w/ free premium speed pack (normally $110) and they would apply a $15 month-to-month discount and also give me 13/1300 numbers included free (previously was not included). I was informed that I'll be able to get the email retention service from Telstra for free for 12 months. All sweet, NBN box install good, speed fine, home phone line switched over to optus on same number just fine,,,, then my Telstra email was switched off.
